As our ShayCPA team grows, we’ve had the opportunity to bring some fantastic talent onboard. Elias is no exception. We’d like to give you the chance to get to know him a little better in our latest edition of the Meet Our Staff feature.
Elias joined us at the very beginning of 2020 as a staff accountant. He leverages his tax preparation and planning expertise, helping our clients with everything from their ongoing financial data compilations to their full-fledged accounting needs.
Elias’s background
Elias grew up right here in Queens and earned his accounting degree at Queens College.
When he was younger, he dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player. However, rather than pursue his on-the-court aspirations, Elias chose to keep basketball as a hobby, along with hiking and fitness in general.
That left him free to pursue the right career for him. Other than some years spent as a special education paraprofessional, he’s always been drawn to accounting. Today, Elias has more than six years of experience in the field. He specializes in assisting tech startups in tax compliance, along with organizing, optimizing, and leveraging their financial data.

Elias brings a don’t-quit attitude to his work. In fact, he wants to share one Bill Walsh quote with all of his clients: “There is no losing, only winning and learning.” As he works alongside his clients, he gets to know their preferences and specifications in an increasingly nuanced way, helping him to deliver top-quality service.
Elias’s favorite part of his job is developing that ever-widening knowledge base so he can always meet the needs of the various entities with which he works. He prides himself on continually communicating with his clients, putting in the energy to understand their needs and expectations while simultaneously ensuring that all essential deadlines are met.
Ultimately, Elias strives to give his clients peace of mind. With him at their side, they can rest easy knowing their financial statements are properly prepared, and their tax deadlines are met. That way, they’re freed up to work on developing their business, building their team, and scaling their operations.
In short, Elias operates as a de facto member of every company’s team to which he offers his services. He anticipates their needs and handles their tax and financial requirements to enable their startups to thrive.
Not content to rest on his current laurels, Elias is pursuing his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license so he can offer even more expertise-driven care to his clients.
